Our Vision
We want a community of users that are well informed on the processes involved in manufacturing orthoses using CADCAM technologies. Our software runs on a free license with the hope that this will increase the exposure of clinicians and students to CADCAM technologies, while at the same time provide a level of transparency with regard to the processes involved from 3D scan capture to clinical dispense.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide highly accurate, powerful and scalable CADCAM systems to podiatrists and orthotic laboratories. It is our mission to utilise the best methodologies and open-loop capital equipment to assist users in making decisions that best benefit their patients and business. We want to build a community of users that help each other achieve the best possible outcomes through open collaboration regarding manufacturing and clinical techniques.
"Our aim is to change the way orthoses are manufactured on a global scale by helping increase exposure of clinicians to CADCAM technologies."
Anthony Dwyer, Managing Director
Open-Loop Advantage
We don't want to lock clinicians or laboratories into using our product. We believe decisions regarding orthotic therapy should reflect best possible clinical outcomes and should not be influenced by such factors as optimism bias. So what do we mean by open-loop? Simply put, an open loop CADCAM system is one that allows a user to make flexible decisions regarding capital equipment such as three-dimensional scanners and CNC routers. For a podiatrist this would mean that they could purchase a 3D scanner that utilizes methodology viewed as best practice and adapt this methodology to conform with evidence based health-care standards. Our software is capable of reading several industry standard file formats including VRML and STL.
Foot Morphology Based Modelling
We utilise individual 3D scans from each and every patient to create custom models within software. Through a defined methodology we create models in a well understood and repeatable way. We utilise clinical reference measurements in order to align 3D scans in both the frontal and sagittal planes to ensure proper translation of clinical data to models. Using an approach that takes advantage of the benefits of full colour 3D scan formats also allows for a more quantifiable prescription process. Our system is built with the ethos that the importance of clinical outcomes outweighs the importance of profitability. From this perspective we do not use pre-defined algorithms that create completed products from generic sets of conditions.
